Each piece is only a couple of pages long, and not all of them are about blood and gore, though many are. The only drawback, in my opinion, is that the castles are arranged alphabetically, not region|About the Author|Until his death in January 2000, Nigel Tranter was one of Scotland's most prolific authors and specialised in Scottish historical fiction with over 100 novels written.
